Our Inspiration
The Junction Triangle already is an incredible walkable arts district with excellent cycling connections, public art on the West Toront Railpath and some great cafes and restaurants. What our plan aims to do is knit it into a whole: to improve connections, public space and public art specificly to help the district achieve its potential. There are other examples globally which show the potential including Beijing's 798 Art Zone which is a district of similar scale and includes a similar mix of large institutions, private galleries, dining options and other creative businesses. This art district has added large pedestrian plazas and public art to create a presense and achieve a critical mass, as a result it appears in lists of top attractions in Beijing.
